The story of GHR – Gruber Holz Restaurierungen began back in the 1960s, when Johann Gruber restored his first Stuben and built an outstanding reputation in the trade.

 

In 1993 his son Hubert Gruber took over and expanded the business through close collaboration with private and public clients, architects, heritage authorities, restaurateurs and hoteliers, as well as churches and monasteries.

In 2017 Christof Gruber, Hubert's nephew, joined the company and took over the business in 2025. Tischlerei Gruber Hubert became GHR Gruber Holz Restaurierungen.

Christof Gruber is not only a master joiner (2024) but also a trained restorer in the joinery trade (2022, Fulda). With great care and a feel for well-lived wood, he brings the story of every piece to life and creates a harmonious link between tradition and the present day.
